A curved chest of drawers in violet wood and amaranth.
It opens to four drawers on three rows.
The parquet floor is covered with a beautiful Languedoc red marble.
It rests on curved uprights terminating in cambered feet,
Rich ornamentation of chased and gilded bronzes (lock escutcheons, falls, pull handles, slippers, lamp bases, etc.) with foliage decoration.

This commode is stamped "F G" 4 times (on the 4 uprights) for François Garnier and JME.
Louis XV period - 18th century

François GARNIER
Father of the famous cabinetmaker Pierre Garnier, François Garnier worked on rue du Faubourg-Saint Antoine, where he was a juror of the carpenter-cabinetmaker guild from 1742 to 1744.
Stamping was not compulsory during his early career, so few works can be attributed to him with any certainty.
However, the signed furniture we do find shows great attention to detail and real talent.
He died in Paris in 1774 on rue des Moineaux.
