Large, highly architectural chest of drawers, resting on four sheathed legs, with fluted and rudenture corners and molded fronts. It opens to five drawers, three of which are keyed. Beautiful bronze ornamentation such as keyholes and pull handles.
Capped with elegant reddish-brown Flanders marble. The frame and drawers are beautifully finished.
This piece of furniture, with its use of walnut and its meticulous craftsmanship, is reminiscent of cabinetmaking workshops in eastern France, such as those in the Dijon region: the Demoulin and Courte masters produced this type of furniture, combining fluted corners and sheathed legs, as well as this lower beltline.
