Stamped "François DELORME" - Beautiful trouser chest of drawers with a slight central projection - Transition period - 18th century

It is inlaid with rosewood in a butterfly wing shape on the front and in grain wood on the sides.
Frames of rosewood, boxwood and green-stained wood fillets on all 3 sides:
Simple frames on the sides, "Greek style" on the front.
It opens with three small drawers at the top and two large drawers without a crosspiece.
The uprights are rounded, simulating trompe l'oeil fluting.
It rests on curved feet.
Ornamentation of chiseled bronzes and gilded varnishes
The parquet floor is topped with a gray veined marble from the Ardennes.
The frame and drawers are made of oak and softwood.

It comes from a castle because it is marked on the top with an inventory number (No. 11), as well as F D
Trace of stamp and "F D" and of JME jurande on the front left upright.

Family of cabinetmakers from the 18th century with the real name of Faizelot
He was received as a master before 1735.
Member of the Faizelot family who adopted, for an unknown reason, the name of Delorme or De Lorme.

DELORME (François FAIZELOT-), master cabinetmaker in Paris, born in 1761, died suddenly on February 11, 1768, was a sworn member of his corporation in the last two years of his life. This manufacturer, established on rue Tiquetonne, mainly produced Louis XV and Transition style pieces
He is credited with the F. D. mark, which has been found on several beautiful pieces of furniture of this type, including a pair of corner cabinets from the former Ch. Stein collection.
He was the father of Adrien Faizelot-Delorme and left two other sons who practiced the same profession: Jean-Louis, who became a master in 1763, kept the house on rue Tiquetonne until the beginning of the reign of Louis XVI; Alexis, having gained the mastery on August 1, 1772, operated a small furniture store on rue Saint-Denis which disappeared in 1786.
