Rare console table in wrought and wrought iron.

Resting on a central foot decorated with foliage au naturel, which supports a curved belt adorned with Greek frieze, it is topped with a veined gray marble.

At the top of the foot, a stylized leaf is surmounted by a star set in a circle.

Eighteenth-century metal furniture is unusual in terms of production, but it's always beautifully crafted. We have here a fine example of a work marked by the transition between the lines of the Louis XV style and the neo-classical ornamentation that would shine in the reign of Louis XVI.

French work circa 1760-1770.
