Superb console table in solid mahogany for the top and shanks and flame mahogany veneer, convertible into a sideboard.
When the top is opened, two long shelves emerge, held in place by scalloped uprights on either side.
It rests on two pilaster-shaped back legs and two sumptuous carved lion's claw front legs that sit on the base.
The whole piece is executed in a very fine flame mahogany, particularly highlighted on the top and plinth.
In the absence of a stamp, and in view of the quality of its execution, this beautiful piece should be compared with pieces by Jacob Frères, Pierre-Antoine Bellangé or Bernard Molitor.
Very good condition, perfectly functional.
Posterior green felt, in perfect condition.
Empire-Consulate period, 1800-1810.
