Important and rare prestige console, Parisian work, in rosewood veneer inlaid with lemon tree marquetry.
This piece of furniture opens with a slightly recessed drawer in the waistband, inlaid with a composition of fillets, foliage, flowers and scrolls underlined by a rosewood strip.
The drawer has two notches on the reverse to allow it to be opened.
These elements rest on two large scrolled console legs, also embellished with lemon-tree inlays, decorated with palmettes and rosettes, and ending in claw feet.
The whole is supported by a stepped base with a projecting edge.
The rear uprights are straight.
The back of this console is flanked by a rear mirror that perfectly symmetries the half-round motif on the base, making it circular by reflection.
This prestigious piece of furniture is topped with edge-grooved white Carrara marble.
Its size, charm and the quality of early 19th-century cabinetmaking will add character to any room.
