Important console in mahogany and mahogany veneer on oak, beautiful production from the beginning of the 19th century; rear legs in pilasters and front legs in columns ringed with chiseled and gilded bronze, topped with a thick gray Sainte Anne marble. It opens with a large drawer in the belt. Parisian production from the Empire period of the 1810s.

Due to the quality and richness of the very careful gilded bronzes (the capitals of the very specific columns), our console is typical of the furniture found in the apartments of Princes within the Imperial Palaces. It could be a production of Jacob Desmalter or Marcion who also made this type of console for the imperial furniture store. Without a stamp, it is difficult to attribute with certainty to one or the other of these two cabinetmakers who were the main suppliers of the Imperial Palaces and the dignitaries of the Empire. Beautiful amateur model, sober but which really stands out from current productions.

Very good condition, beautiful old varnish cleaned and repolished by our cabinetmaker.
