This coffee table was designed by Christian Liaigre (1943-2020), a French interior designer. The Liaigre style is based on a modernity founded on the classical foundations of furniture history. No stylistic effects but luxurious simplicity, an aesthetic of purity that expresses a taste for refined detail.
This coffee table is made of chestnut logs, curved at the base, and has a very brutalist, Japanese feel.
There is the usual wear and rubbing on a table that has been in use for 30 or 40 years. It remains in good overall condition.
