This large teak chest is made of a single plank each on the top, sides and front.
For added strength, the corners have brass reinforcements and each edge has brass straps. Dovetailed panels are also screwed together.
The lid is locked by a functional, original two-point lock with chiselled escutcheon and key.
The lid, mounted on three hinges, is held open by a wooden element on the back of the trunk.
The interior features ample storage space and three niches. Two side niches with lids carved with relief motifs and an open niche in the center arranged horizontally.
This quality trunk, fitted with a bronze carrying handle on each side, rests on stepped front legs.
