This piece of furniture with movement on its three visible sides opens with a central door. Its blackened wood frame is mitered, and the center is speckled with burr cedar. A fine beaded strip underlines the junction between the two species, and spandrels in shells and bronze decorate the corners. This door closes with an original brass lock, with bronze key.
The front jambs, protruding, are dressed with important gilded bronze falls in the upper parts, and more modest ones in the lower part. We find there also burr cedar, surrounded by a brass net, on a black background.
The top in white Carrara marble follows the shape of the furniture. The edge is molded with groove and beak of corbin.
The belt is composed of elements in burr cedar surrounded by beaded brass rods. It is surmounted by a bronze molding with gadroons following the lines of the top.
The movement sides are in the same taste, the same work, and composed of the same wood species.
The base, called pedestal, is overflowing. Speckled elements in burr cedar and pearl bronze decorate it. The center is embellished with a large rounded bronze, openwork with leaves.
The interiors of the door and the storage spaces are made of mahogany veneer. The shelves are adjustable since they are placed on racks and have blackened edges.
This Napoleon III sideboard, rich by its decorations, will be perfect for a living room or an entrance. Its brown, black and gold colors meet the codes of current decoration.
