Rare, shallow mahogany and solid mahogany veneered buffet or storage unit on an oak case. Fluted uprights with gilded bronze asperges, it opens with two doors adorned with gilded bronze lock escutcheons and a fine wrought-iron espagnolette inside. It is topped by its thick original turquoise-blue marble, carved with cavet. Old Parisian work in the Louis XVI or Directoire style (late 18th century or circa 1800).
Our sideboard is a rare piece of commissioned furniture with a very practical format: its shallow depth - 23cm - means it takes up very little space, with great decorative effect. A piece of furniture that looks big but doesn't take up floor space. It's a rare proposition, an unusual piece of furniture. The turquoise-blue marble, the quality of the bronzes, the veneer and the flawless blond oak are further signs of high quality.
It is in very good condition, with the buffer varnish cleaned and repolished by our cabinetmaker. No damage to the veneer, original marble.
