This piece of port furniture from the Nantes region, in solid Cuban mahogany, has three doors on the front, two of which open to the right and one to the left.
These are mounted on brass overhang plugs and fitted with working locks and genuine keys with brass rear latch entries.
Each of these doors is fitted with a single seamless panel and has a knockout miter cut edge, revealing a moving grooved molding on the inside.
The crosspiece is cut into volutes wrapping at the ends on the bottom of the legs.
The half-round uprights, with knockouts, end in humped snail feet.
The sides are also dark with a seamless panel with cut-out top crosspiece and molding on the crosspieces and feet.
The interior offers three partitioned spaces, each with a mahogany-fronted drawer fitted with a falling gilded bronze handle as well as a shelf with an animated edge.
This piece of furniture is topped with a marble, called “Noir de Sablé”, with bec-de-corbin.
The back, the interiors of the drawers and the marble flooring are in oak.
This port sideboard will appeal to lovers of art furniture with its quality of manufacturing and its quality woods.
