Neo-Renaissance - Henri II style two-body sideboard in walnut, opening with two leaves in the lower section and one leaf in the upper section, two drawers in the waistband, all resting on four legs, the front two of which are decorated with scrolls and masks.
A richly carved molding with caning and channel frieze decorates the lower part of the body, and the uprights of the projecting side panels are adorned with masks, garlands and acanthus leaves.
The two leaves open onto a storage shelf, while the two drawers in the waistband are fitted with winged lion's head handles.
The recessed upper carcase is flanked on either side by a shelf supported by a chimera on a scrolled background.
A general decorative repertoire inherited from the Renaissance, such as grotesques, volutes, acanthus leaves, horns of plenty, chimeras, cherubs and portraits in medallions.
French work from the Napoleon III period.
Good overall condition, consistent with age and use.
