Rare Art Deco furniture of Parisian manufacture topped by a thick marble in shades and carved ornaments.
This piece of furniture in blond mahogany of Ceylon has two drawers in the belt, decorated with carved bronze handles and brass keys. The locks are original and in perfect working order. Two vertically shaped doors with alternating striations are equipped with brass lozenge keys and reveal a large storage space with a shelf when opened.
Separating vertically the drawers and doors, we find in the center a large pilaster with frame and carvings in rosewood. At the top, a couple of delicate swans spread their wings and bend their necks.
On each side of the facade, rectangular section uprights support a rosewood element carved in the shape of a bouquet of flowers, supported by a vase and scrolls. A closed flower and a rosary accompany this floral decoration and enhance it.
The sides of this exceptional sideboard benefit from two symmetrical elements deployed, also illustrating the quality of realization of this piece of furniture.
The whole rests on feet with gadroons in front and rectangular in the back.
Restored in the rules of art, this piece of furniture with an art deco design mixing geometry and finesse, is the witness of an era when the elegance and refinement of the creations of the Parisian workshops were undeniable.
