Antique Italian Baroque Bedroom Set - Rare

This absolutely stunning 7-piece bedroom set is a fantastic work of art. The bedroom includes a fabulous, intricately carved bed, which can be used as a pair of singles or a super king-size bed with an impressive baroque-style headboard and footboard, crafted from beautiful, rich solid walnut wood. The bed features fabulous twisted posts at all corners with 3D-carved cherub-like putti. The headboards and footboards are carved with an array of mythical creatures such as mermaids, cherubs, angels, ogres, and the artisan's initials in the center. The set comes with 25 drawers for ample storage, additional shelves, and hanging compartments for clothes, making it both practical and unique.

This rare and exquisite bedroom set also includes other stunning pieces, such as a matching chest of drawers with a large mirror and marble top, a pair of nightstands, a mirrored dressing table, and a three-door wardrobe, all with intricately carved details, the likes of which you've never seen before!

This original late 19th-century Italian antique Baroque bedroom set has been well-maintained and is sure to add a wow factor to any bedroom.

The magnificent bed can be used as a pair of single beds with a 90 x 200 cm mattress, or a large slatted base on legs can be placed inside the bed frame, and the bed can be made into a large king-size bed measuring 200 cm x 200 cm with a mattress. The external dimensions of the beds together are 204 cm x 202 cm. The headboard is 170 cm high and the footboard is 159 cm.

The armoire disassembles completely and measures 285 cm high (including the cherub crest) x 238 cm x 70 cm deep. There are three compartments: one with shelves, the central compartment with a clothes rail, and the third compartment with five drawers. There is slight rust on the full-length central mirror door due to age. There are also three storage drawers on the lower level. The armoire has two cherubs on either side of the crest, with cherub and angel carvings on the doors. There are four twisted barley columns with carved ivory to border each of the armoire's compartments.

The chest of drawers has a large drawer and a storage cupboard below with four more drawers. There is a cherub Putti carving on the mirror crest, with cherubs seated on either side of the mirror. The original mercury mirror has a small chip. The marble top is original and made of pink marble, carved to the shape of the chest of drawers. The dimensions are 270 cm high x 140 cm wide x 62 cm deep.

The bedside tables have one drawer and two cupboards, both with marble tops (one has a repair). The armoires are heavily carved with cherub and putti crests. The dimensions are 145 cm high x 57 cm wide x 39 cm deep.

The dressing table has a beautiful hanging mirror with a cherub and putti crest and cherubs seated on either side on twisted barley posts. There are three original pink marble tops and eleven drawers for storage. The armoires are heavily carved with mythical creatures and angels. The dimensions are 218 cm high x 170 cm wide x 38 cm deep.

The bedroom set is a rare and unique piece of carved solid walnut wood, never to be seen again.

Condition Report

The bedroom is over 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, with some marks and minor losses.

The two mirrors on the dresser and dressing table are original and have some chips. The pink marble on the dresser has been repaired, as has one of the marble tops on the side cabinets.

Some of the cherubs have minor missing parts (fingers/toes).

One of the headboards has an original join in the solid wood panel.

Any traces of furniture beetle have been treated and restored.
