Head of Christ with crown of emine , oil painting on fine fruitwood , with the face appearing in a drape , finely executed in the manner of the icon on a thick-structured and protruding tight-fibered fruitwood (apple tree) , Italy Vévitie circa 1850 . Highlighted in a superb pedimented frame with riceaux, foliage and flowers in lozangé lace well openworked in gilded work with several faceted glass stones(Muano) alternating diamond sapphire ruby , with palmettes angels , fisé in its middle on an orange brocaded silk fabric with period motif . Treated in the manner of a jpyau, this beautiful object of piety would be at home in a small room; annotated in pencil on the back, Villa Valmarana (Venetia). A beautiful and symbolic object of illustrious provenance.....In very good condition
