It was made by the TRIOULLIER frères workshop, a manufacturer of church silverware and bronzes in Paris, Rue de Grenelles, active from 1844 to 1899.
Our chalice in gilded silver 950/1000 weighs 395 grams and comes in its original wooden case. Set on a polylobed base, the bowl bears a Latin locution recalling the chalice's primary function: "Hic Est Enim Calix Sanguinis" for This is My Blood.
Each lobe features a stylized fleur-de-lys.
On the paten is the Lamb of God, holding the labarum, which is bordered by the words "Panis Vivus - Agnus Dei", the Living Bread, the Lamb of God, again recalling the paten's primary function.
Height 17 cm.
Paten diameter 12 cm
