This is an exceptional series, probably Tuscan, from the late 18th century.
Our glazed reliquaries are made of wood, with a gilded base, palmette, and firepot.
They feature numerous notable ex-ossibus relics of holy martyrs from the first centuries, in a rich, brightly colored floral arrangement on a wallpapered background.
On the backs of the reliquaries, a few wax seals remain, which were opened in the past, probably for cleaning.
The first contains important relics of Saint Mauri, Martyr, along with relics of Saint Ruffini, Martyr, Saint Giusti, Martyr, Saint Benigni, and Saint Severi.
The second contains Saint Fellicis, Martyr, with relics of Saint Desiderius, Martyr, Saint Plautilla, Martyr, Saint Illuminati, Saint Zonom, and Saint Autilla.
The third contains the following holy martyrs: Lucidii, Felicis, Fautini, and a relic of Saint Perfecti, which we are told is a fragment of his skull.
Finally, the following holy martyrs accompany our fourth chasse: Simplicia, Gaudent II, Ruffini, Mauri, Goustinus, Victoris, and Zeno.
Dimensions: 45 cm high, 52 cm long, and 23 cm deep.
Used condition – occasional missing decorative elements on the chases – insect holes.
