Saint Eloi (588-660), passed down to posterity, partly thanks to this nursery rhyme, was Bishop of Noyon, a French goldsmith and coiner, who served as Minister of Finance to King Dagobert.

In Limoges, at Nicolas II LAUDIN (Active at the beginning of the 18th century), our oval plaque in polychrome enamel on copper represents Saint ELOI de Noyon.
The spandrels are in relief. On the back, a precious inscription mentions "N Laudin enameler to the Jesuits in Limoges 1711".
