____________________________
*During the celebration of the Eucharist, the kiss of peace is the liturgical rite that precedes sacramental communion. This instrument, which appeared in the Middle Ages, enables the faithful to convey the kiss of peace without direct physical contact - which can sometimes be ambiguous - and with a reminder of the religious meaning of the gesture.
