In excellent condition, this is an original representation of Jacob's ladder which can be found on a gouache in the central medallion.
If the Biblical ladder teaches us “that there is nothing but the house of God and this is the door to heaven”, our ladder, of the new Covenant, also leads us there, through the Sacred Heart.
A less frightening vision than that offered by the Holy Scriptures.
