I have somewhat improperly called this work a congregation, a Papal one, because so many distinct relics of popes is exceptional in a reliquary.
A large central medallion featuring a gouache on vellum of Mary Magdalene is surrounded by 12 ex-ossibus relics.
Thus, our Holy Woman is accompanied by the following saints: Saint Boniface, Martyr; Saint Clair; Saint Vital, Martyr; Saint Innocent, Pope; Saint Vincent; Saint Denis; Saint Saturninus, Martyr; Saint Marcellus, Pope; Saint Felix, Pope; Saint Bonaventure; Saint Urban, Pope; and finally, Saint Euaristus.

At the four corners of this reliquary are other important papal relics, also ex-ossibus, of Pope Saint Clement, Pope Martyr Saint Martin, Pope Martyr Saint Victor, and finally Saint Pontian, a martyred pope who died of mistreatment in the salt mines of Sardinia in the 3rd century.

Undeniably a collector's item, of high quality and in beautiful condition, in its original gilded and carved frame.

    Dimensions: 36 cm x 30 cm.
