Transformed into blackened wood mirrors, this pair is richly decorated with a pediment, columns, applied brass and silver decoration, foliage, masks, putti, flowers and scrolls.
The pieces stand on curved front legs, with balls at the back.
A North Italian or South German work, very late 17th - early 18th century
Dimensions 65 cm high by 27 cm wide by 8 cm deep.
Old episcopal wax stamps on the back.
A few small chips - old woodworm holes - one monstrance slightly unbalanced.
