Its size, the quality of its gilding and the richness of its decoration make it an exceptional liturgical object.
At 102 cm high and 52 cm wide, set on a four-lobed base measuring 25 cm by 25 cm, it is a cathedral model.
Made of gilded bronze, it was executed by Parisian master silversmiths Jules Jamain and Eugène Chevron between 1865 and 1879.
On its base are representations of the four evangelists framing the birth of the monstrance. The knot is adorned with cabochons of verroteries, colored verroteries that are found several times on this piece.
On both sides, fine bronze lacework with Eucharistic decorations surrounds the Glory, which is adorned with eight cherubs (Christ's number), set with blue enamel roundels.
It comes with its own vermeil lunette, hallmarked by the same silversmiths, 8.5 cm in diameter.
Excellent condition with bezel and original case.
