Here's a rare and moving relic of Saint Roch, carefully set in crystal, at the heart of a gilded and silvered brass monstrance. The support, a richly ornamented encolpion, is decorated with four finely sculpted angels and delicate engraved arabesques.
This relic, authenticated by an episcopal seal, bears the engraved inscription "Reliquiae S. Rochi, autenticae", dated the year of grace 1863, confirming its direct link with the pilgrims' patron saint.
A handwritten document, although not following today's standards for official certificates of authenticity, accompanies this piece. This ancient text nevertheless attests to the relics, offered to the veneration of the faithful under the authority of Monseigneur René-François Régnier, Archbishop of Cambrai between 1850 and 1881, elevated to the dignity of cardinal by the Pope in 1873.
The set is presented with its original case and is in excellent condition. Dimensions: 33.5 cm high by 17.5 cm wide. A unique opportunity for lovers of sacred heritage.
