Our finely carved, chased and gilded wooden monstrance rests on a poly-lobed, gadrooned terrace.
At its center is a niche with silver scrolls in which rests a bagged ex-ossibus relic of Saint Lucidae.
This is probably Saint Lucy of Syracuse, martyred in Sicily (+ c. 305) and a victim of Diocletian's persecutions.
Our Italian reliquary is surrounded by martyr's palms and crowned with a royal crown.
Two parish seals authenticate the relic.
Good condition, with a few missing pieces and a fleur-de-lys finial on the upper end.
Dimensions: 73 cm high x 37 cm wide x 11 cm deep.
