On a red background, with its thick gold-thread embroidery and numerous representations, our neo-Gothic banner from the first part of the 19th century retains its freshness.
The main motif is a large representation of two angels and a monstrance. At its center, the host-bearing monstrance is supported by two praying angels. The scene is framed by the Latin phrase "Ecce Panis Angelorum Factus Cibus Viatorum", which could be translated as "This is the bread of angels, which has become food for the traveler.
The banner is richly decorated with flowers. Its counterpart is embellished with two coats of arms bearing two allegories of Christ, the first with the image of the Pelican and the second materializing the Lamb of God.
The banner is mounted on a transverse wooden staff covered with red velvet.
Condition as used - Fabrics tapered in several places - a few missing pieces - pinkish fabric lining.
