    Octagonal as it should be!
    This massive baptismal font dates from the late 16th or early 17th century.
    Carved with gadroon decoration, it rests on a large console foot.

    The number 8 is the number of Christ, probably because it represents infinity, having neither beginning nor end. Baptism being the first sacrament that brings the profane into Christ's church, it's only natural to find this symbol, which is more than a simple filiation.

    Its total weight is around 200 kg, in two parts.
