    As a vehicle of faith, relics materialize the Divine, making it accessible, not to say comprehensible. While so-called exiguous relics, i.e. those containing only a fragment of a saint, provided they are visible to the naked eye, are extremely numerous, notable relics are rarer.

    Our chasse reliquaire exhibits and protects notable relics, those of Saint Pacifique and Saintes Reliques.

    Made of gilded wood and green lacquer with imitation marble decorations, it rests on two recumbent lions surmounted by a broad palmette, housing a montage of gilded and silvered wires with a flower motif, the whole housing the relics of Saint Pacifique as well as Holy Relics. Presence of wax seals.

    Saint Pacifique was an Italian priest from Ancona, who left the earthly world in 1720.

    A fine Italian work from the Venice region, mid-18th century.
