Our gilded copper reliquary comes from the Reinhold Hofstatter collection.
A late 15th-century work. A finely engraved stem, resting on a foot, receives a hexagonal glazed niche. It is topped by a ribbed dome surmounted by a Latin cross.
The relics, deposited in a blown-glass ampoule, are protected by a wax seal. The relics are ex-ossibus, probably from St. Catherine of Alexandria (phylactery illegible).
Used condition for this ancient piece, over 500 years old.
Foot dimensions 14 cm - height 32 cm and width 10 cm.
