This crucifix signed JJ. Lerat is in perfect condition.
Jean Lerat (1913-1992) and Jacqueline Lerat (1920-2009), a French ceramicist couple, were key figures in the revival of stoneware art, drawing inspiration from folk art and modern art movements. In the Lerats' work, the bestiary, with the rooster and the hen, is a recurring theme, as is that of female figures in the flower girl series and religious figures.
