It overlooks an important bagged ex-ossibus relic. The relic, a clavicle of Saint Prosper, is authenticated by a wax seal on the back of the piece.
The altarpiece is surmounted by a pediment depicting the Sacred Heart.
An elegant and interesting Northern Italian work of the 18th century.
