Large Belly Vase in Cream Ceramic, with Blue Chinese decorations.
Its large opening of 36 cm in diameter is bordered by repetitions of motifs forming two friezes.
Its swollen part offers two Dragons chasing the same Pearl, a precious object on which their powers depend. Their mouths with moustaches and goatees are topped by horns. They are extended by long serpentine bodies with scales and dorsal manes. Their legs end in eagle claws. These two imaginary creatures, symbols of Protection and Wisdom, are represented in the Sky from where they can watch over the Earth. The latter is materialized in the lower part by decorations reminiscent of a grassy meadow.
Four round and fixed handles are embedded in the mouths of characters with marked foreheads.
This two-colored vase in perfect condition will delight especially the lovers of Oriental Art, who will be able to put in value their most beautiful plants.
