    * Romain-Vincent Jeuffroy (1749-1826)
    is a French fine stone engraver and medalist. After Jacques Guay had stopped working, the Count of Angiviller tried to revive fine stone engraving. He decides, through his promises, Romain-Vincent Jeuffroy to do so, but he does not keep his commitments. So he went to Rome, then to Naples where he spent ten years during which he produced many works, either in relief or in relief, several of which are kept in Paris in the Department of Coins, Medals and Antiques of the Library national of France. Back in Paris, he engraved a few portraits which ensured his reputation, but lacking work, he accepted the proposals of the King of Poland Stanislas II and settled in Warsaw in 1790. After his return to Paris, Jeuffroy was appointed member from the Institute in 1803. Among his portraits, we cite those of the King of Poland, Prince Lubomirski, and Julie Clary, Queen Consort of Naples. Director of La Mint, he competed in the year XI for the design of the 5 franc coin. Romain-Vincent Jeuffroy was named Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1819. Works by this artist are kept at the British Museum in London.
