Painted miniature presented in a colored 18K solid gold brooch, depicting the portrait of René Ange de la Guerrande* (1744-1816) in frock coat, Seigneur de la Ville-Colleu à Matignon (North Brittany), husband of Etiennette de Berthou (daughter of the President of the Nobility at the Estates of Brittany), late 18th-early 19th century. Sold with a vest that once belonged to him.
This brooch is in good condition. No hallmark but has been tested for 18K gold. This brooch is accompanied by a striped vest that belonged to René Ange de la Gyerrande (reminiscent of the garment worn in this miniature).
Please note: the brooch pin is missing, and there are minor scratches and wear, see photos. Tears and wear to the fabric of the vest (in its original condition).
This miniature (and the vest) come from the de la Guerrande family of Brittany.
