Beautiful monogrammed pewter inkwell depicting two young children each looking at a frog placed on an inkwell.
The children are glued to each other, seeming frightened by the attitude of the batrachians staring at them, ready to pounce. The boy firmly holds the stump on which he is sitting and the little girl clings to her companion. They are barefoot and wear finely carved clothes.
The frogs reveal two inkwells composed of glass containers in perfect condition.
This charming and poetic scene makes this delicately chiseled inkwell a rare object.
