Painted hard porcelain, enhanced with gilding

Paris, early 19th century

Charming penholder resting on a circular base with gilded fillet. Three sphinxes support the main body. The body is richly decorated with rows of pearls and fluting. The top is painted jade green with dark green fillet.

Condition report: excellent. A firing crack under the base. Buckets missing. No wear or damage.
