Beautiful travel writing case in rosewood and burr cedar marquetry with fillet inlays and brass motifs. F.B. monogram in a richly chased cartouche.
The two flaps revealing the interior are curved and highlighted with brass molding.
The two inkwells are positioned on either side of a small locker closed by a lid.
The interior is lined with leather and framed in rosewood.
It is signed on the lock "Ch. Fortin rue Nve des Petits Champs 59 Paris".
Very good condition, later period leather.
