France or Italy, 1930s/1950s, very elegant removable writing case in mahogany inlaid wood containing a mail set. The two inner trays and the upper pen tray are lined with leather. A five-row vertical file holds mail and other documents. Two small drawers on the front and a small open compartment are designed to hold small items.
A beautiful object, as decorative as it is useful. Bronze handles on the sides make it easy to carry.
Good condition, apart from minor marquetry flaws and visible cracks and wear. Nothing unusual given the age of the piece. Dimensions in closed position: Width 33 cm. Height 20 cm. Depth 16.5 cm.
