*The Keller company was founded in 1856 by Gustave Keller; his elegant products were immediately appreciated for their quality. G. Keller was awarded a silver medal and a gold medal in 1867 and 1878. After 1878, the Keller brothers succeeded him and began to produce silverware which was awarded a gold medal and a Grand Prix respectively at the 1889 and 1900 Universal Exhibitions.
In 1889, Lucien Falize wrote that "everything bearing the Keller mark is good" (the later company was known as "Keller fils et gendre successeurs").
Established in Paris at 65 rue de Turbigo, Keller moved its store and workshop to 22 rue Joubert in 1891. In 1929, the store was registered at 18 avenue Matignon and was still in business in 1947.
Maison Keller had famous international customers and was appointed official supplier to several courts (Spain, Russia, Greece and Romania).
The Russian Court was an important customer in 1897, by which time the last Tsar himself was a regular buyer.
