Chiseled and gilded brass and bronze fireplace screen. The central terminal is decorated with a female face surrounded by olive branches, trimmings and interlacing acanthus leaves. The firewall is surmounted by a flame, a reference to the function of the object to protect from the force of fire. The eight openwork brass leaves of this fireplace screen unfurl like the feathers of a peacock. It can also be closed by folding the sides and holding them with chains, to save space when not in use. It rests on four scroll-shaped feet.

Dimension of the open firewall: L: 105 cm; D: 15 cm; H: 74cm (W: 41.34in; D: 5.91in; H: 29.13in)
Dimensions of the closed firewall: L: 28 cm; D: 15 cm; H: 74cm (W: 11.02in; D: 5.91in; H: 29.13in)
