Beautiful gilt bronze and patinated bronze ewer in the manner of Claude Galle, from the Empire-Consulate period, circa 1815.
This ewer has a beautiful handle ending in a rooster's head (the rooster is the attribute of Hermes).
The body is encircled by a finely chased frieze of laurel leaves, and rests on a guilloché pedestal ending in a quadrangular base resting on a patinated bronze counter base.
This object is of very fine quality and size.
