    Mahogany-stained walnut fifth wheel with three elephant heads adorned with tusks.
    The animal's trunk forms the base of the pedestal.
    This piece is attributed to Louis Majorelle, a cabinetmaker from Lorraine in the late 19th/early 20th century (1859-1926). Taking over his father's workshop in 1879, he initially produced furniture in 18th-century styles. At the end of the 19th century, he participated with Émile Gallé in the development of the Art Nouveau style.
