Description of the antique:
"Very Important Fountain Of Table XIXth"
Description:
Silvered bronze, Turquin marble, cut crystal.
This astonishing Louis XIV style evening accessory is composed of three feet with volutes and heads of rams and foliage.
These feet carry a bowl decorated with ribbons and a frieze of foliage, a cut crystal cup with a curved edge.
By a system of pipes in a foot, the liquid (wine, punch ...) came out of three nozzles in the crystal cup. It was then enough to stretch its glass under the falling jet of a nozzle.
The low cup was used as a cooler or a punch bowl.
The work of bronze, different from that of silver metal, gives a more architectural aspect to this fountain.
This fountain can also be a spectacular centerpiece, one imagines flowers, moss and ivy crumbling over the three legs.
Condition:
Excellent condition, no missing or damaged, the fountain is ready to receive the pipe system and nozzles according to the use that will be decided.
Dimensions:
Height: 63 cm , base diameter: 40 cm .
