Description :
Painted and gilded porcelain.

These vases are inspired by ancient pottery.
A lion's paw tripod base supports the ovoid body. The handles are held by simulated links.
A removable molded plinth wedges the three feet into circular edges.
The whole vase is decorated with nets, arabesques, moresques as well as a cartouche concentrating these motifs and decorated in its center with a mascaron of Dionysos.
There was an Etruscan fashion in Paris in the 19th century, one will think for example of the Etruscan pavilion at the Universal Exhibition of 1889.
Moreover, the objects of the Grand Tour have no connection with Sèvres.
