Description :
Chased bronze and molded gold. Marble with purple, ocher and ivory veins.
This covered pot consists of a pedestal with a large beadwork, surrounded by a frieze of interlacing.
The pedestal widens in Medicis, basin with gadroons, grooves.
The almost spherical body is entirely covered with putti and cherubs playing with flowers.
The lid grip (fixed) is adorned with a highly detailed cluster of berries.
The quality of design and carving of the time is found in the ornamental details as in the design of the bodies. Note the very detached bouquets of flowers, the "very 18th century" faces of the putti.
During cleaning, the twisted screws typical of the 18th century were brought to light.
State :
Very good condition, slight wear of use of the ground gold. To describe the details well, the photo has been under-lit. The orground is brighter and "yellow" in reality, of a beautiful color.
Dimensions:
height: 43 cm, base: 15 cm x 15 cm, belly diameter 22 cm.
