Rare rectangular box in tortoiseshell and quilted, work from Naples from the 18th century, the lid decorated with an entwined couple surrounded by two cherubs in a silver and mother-of-pearl cartridge, the other 5 sides decorated with silver cartridges, small accidents and losses, nevertheless it is a rare and beautiful document of this technique called quilting which makes the scale sparkle like embroidery, it was the Neapolitans who made it a specialty, the Huguenots brought this technique to England around 1770
