Small Paris porcelain jewelry box, second half of the 19th century, made by Edmé Samson

The floral decoration, hand-painted in the style of 18th-century Meissen porcelain, is found on all sides of the box, on the interior and on both sides of the lid. It is complemented by gilded fillets and foliage in the Rocaille style.

The signature, appropriately reminiscent of Saxon porcelain, but supplemented by an S, is found from 1845 onwards (cf. "Les porcelaines française", Tardy, 1987).

Dimensions approx. 12.5 x 9cm, perfect condition.
