Box of Spa. Since the 17th century, the town of Spa, a spa town located in Belgium, has developed a whole craft of boxes and painted objects intended to be sold to rich curists. Known as "jolités", these objects have become over time sought after collector's items. Here we present a sewing box painted with flower motifs. Inside is a removable tray with numerous comprtiments under painted lids, a ball, a mirror, two dice slots, and underneath the tray are two anecdotal labels with the names of the first owners and a date, 1870.
