Enameled vermeil sewing set from the first half of the 19th century.
The blackened wood case is inlaid with mother-of-pearl and brass inlays. Very minor imperfections, but very good overall appearance with beautiful stamped varnish.
The scissors are enameled vermeil (gold-plated silver). One of the handles is badly damaged but not broken. It is also missing much of its enamel.
The needle case and punch are in relatively good condition, with beautiful enamel.
The thimble has lost its gilt and much of its enamel, but is not pierced or dented.
The tools are stamped "boar's head".
